Cosy Tots Organics
Cosytots Organics is run by me, Kathy Broussart, and a little help from my mother and sister who live in the north of France. I started researching and designing my models early this year. Knitting has always been a passion and I wanted to turn it into a little family business. My mother was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis a couple of years ago and I wanted her to be part of this venture. Being a member of this exciting business makes her feel valuable.
I design and manufacture soft toys, children travelling blanket (60cm x 60cm – easy to fold and put away in a lady handbag), French beret hat and mini scarf. These items are suitable for all ages, from newborns to teenagers.
I source the wool and fleece from a great company based in the UK. Sheep are bred in the UK, The wool is certified by the soil association and the fleece comes from Certified Sheep. It was important to me to use British products as this country has a lot to offer.
All items are handmade.
We have two soft toys: Browny the Bear and Bella Bunny or Jeannot lapin (1 female and 1 male bunny). These soft toys, French Beret hat and mini scarf are made by my sister and me. My mother takes care of the blanket as crochet knitting is not my best skill.
In the future I am planning to design a range of smaller soft toys inspired by the Cornish coast, using Certified Organic Cornish wool and naturally dyed Cornish Organic wool.
I will also prepare a range for Christmas using Certified Organic wool dyed by Llynfi & co. They have a great range of warm colour tone. They have been certified by the soil association and this is a great security when it comes to choosing the right yarn to keep our promise being the Wellbeing of the children.
We would love for children to have natural toys Nowadays everything needs batteries, is made out of plastic, include screws and other dangerous parts. Our aim is to provide children with soft toys and other items they will keep forever.
My best example is myself. My parents bought me a pink teddy the day I was born. 31 years later, I still have it and I still cuddle him. He has listened to the joy and the pain of my teenage years and even more. He is simply a great comfort and I wish for children around the world to have the same opportunity.
